13:00 Packed-lunch provided on route to Arromanches
16:00 Commemorations at Arromanches-les-Bains...

Despite a sunny start, the weather on June 6th decided to turn against us as the heavens opened minutes before 800 Normandy Veterans were due to parade down through the town of Arromanches. However stubborn British determination prevailed; our Veterans were tough as old boots and were still smiling at the end of the day - some because they’d had a few too many whilst seeking shelter in the local pub!

Each veteran was presented with a medal bar for attending the 65th anniversary commemorations and defiantly braving the relentless downpour. It was definitely a day to remember!

19:00 The group hurried back to hotel to dry off and warm up with a hot dinner and a few stiff drinks!
